Curly Dock is related to sorrel and does indeed have tasty leaves,
subject to that oxalic acid caveat of course.

But burdock is entirely different. It's in the thistle family and
the leaves are thick, fibrous and nasty. But the roots are very
tasty; think Japanese gobo.

      Title: Burdock and Carrot Saute
 Categories: Vegetables, Wild
      Yield: 4 Servings
 
      1 tb Sesame oil
      2 md Carrots cut into
           Matchsticks
      1 md Burdock root cut into
           Matchsticks
 
  Heat the sesame oil. Saute the carrot and burdock for a few minutes.
