I'm happy to hear that things worked out for her.

Double win!
Roslind acted as a medical travel companion for someone who was
wheel chair bound but needed some tests done that can't be done
here. (The Dept. of Health here picks up the tab for airfare, hotel,
meals and cabs for both of them in situations like that.) She got
to see our great grandson finally. Because of the current
restrictions in place in Alberta she had to meet her son,
granddaughter and the little one outdoors only (they chose a city
park on a nice sunny day) with the adults all masked and keeping
two meters apart, but at least she got to see and talk to him.
Now that she's back she has to self isolate but because she's fully
vaccinated she can do it at home and it's only for 8 days not 14. And
because I'm also fully vaccinated I have to merely self monitor, not
self isolate with her so I can continue going to work.
> There are some good bean dish that can be made dirt cheap for sure.
I'm going to make that my next food theme. my last bean pot using
navy beans wasn't in a tomato sauce or Boston baked but a white
Quebec version: beans, a little bean broth, lard, diced ham,
onions, garlic and thyme.
There was a riverside hotel and dive bar in Maniwaki (a small
lumber town in western Quebec, north of Ottawa, in the Gatineau
Hills which are the foothills of the Laurentian Mountains)
that used to pit smoke their pots of white beans in holes in the
sand on the beach. They were awesome. My oven baked version is but a
pale imitation!
Cheers
Jim
