Most likely that would be Zero Mostel.  He had the same part in the movie.

Wonder how many other actors played the same role in both the stage
and film versions of a play/movie.   Hmm, there's Robert Preston (The
Music Man), Dick Van Dyke (Bye Bye Birdie), Ethel Merman (Call Me Madam),
I'm sure there are many others, those three came to mind.
