JS> In the most recent Voyager episode (the one with DaVinci), Janeway
JS> makes a remark that goes something like "James T. Kirk claimed to
JS> have met him".
JS> Did that really happen, or did the Voyager writers make that up? I
JS> tried to remember if Kirk ever mentioned DaVinci, but I don't think
JS> so; but it's been a couple of years since I watched any Trek
JS> Classic.
JB> That one stuck out to me as well. I couldn't ever remember Kirk
JB> mentioning that he had met DaVinci. Of course, the writers could say
JB> that that was from one of the missions that we never saw.
JB> Or, it could be from one of the novels. Since I haven't read them
JB> all, and stopped a few years ago, it could be in there....
JB> I think it was a ploy to make TOS viewers sit up and say "What?!"
I know some people have already mentioned this, but the writers were
referring to the TOS episode, "Requiem For Methuselah." It is the one where
the Enterprise encounters a man who has lived for centuries. He is now
alled
Mr. Flint, but he claims he was da Vinci in an earlier century. He's the one
who constructed the Android, Rayna.
