GJ> I too am perplexed and worried about Paul Edwards' excommunication.
GJ> Does anyone know the reason behind it and who did it?
GJ> I hope it was not because of his EchoMail. He certainly was not
GJ> excessively annoying. If someone can get axed for what possibly
GJ> could be political reasons it sure is a sad day for FidoNet.
GJ> I'd like to see him back as well.
 GJ> "Disagreement is actually necessary,

Gregg, I posted out an E-Mail to him, but don't know if it made it.

Since I don't have enough details yet, I haven't brought this up in
FN_SYSOP, but Paul is more than welcome to present his side there.

Since Policy provides no such authority to 'suspend' a node, the NC action
is obviously without merit; since he was not offered a chance to refute or
appeal the alleged complaint against him, he cannot be 'officially'
excommunicated.

FidoNet is communication. If you don't like what someone says, you can not
be forced to read it. Claims of 'abusive language' in an Echo are the
province of the Moderator in that conference; claims of 'abusive language'
in NetMail are your own...you can always just password the bugger out of
your system.

Paul makes some comments I don't agree with; but he has the right to make
them, just as I may have the right to ignore them.

And that's what this is all about, no?

If you or anyone else is reading this and can contact Paul, please let him
know he is welcome to let me know what is happening in details.
