I had it in Startup.ncf..  I forget the exact order, but it was one of the 
first lines, then loading the disk driver..  Adaptec fax'd me the right order 
for it..  Its been a few years since I left that site, so its a bit of fuzzy 
logic at the moment..  :}
I thought the line was REGISTER_MEMORY_ABOVE_16MEG=NO before all of this..
If you still have problems, I'll look for my notes on it..
