An illegal immigrant is such, regardless of how they gain entry.

The Mexican border is where they have seen physical entry, thats why it is
getting the attention. However stem the tide there and you would curb a
majority of illegal entries.

Canada, a closer ally than Mexico, with a society more like ours than
different, is getting more of a pass with a pourous border because of the
relationship.

When Castro dies and the Cuban govt becomes more democratized, I bet that
policy will change. The Cubans whom can get om American soil are regarded
as political refugee's.

Your comparison is a little weaker as its easier to cross the Rio Grande
than it is the Florida strait.
