I don't think that you'd get much more than a Pentium or a PII for $50 and
that may not be worth the cost.  I never could tell the difference between
my 486/66 and my P90.

But some things get odd.  I have a HP scanner which I could not give away. 
It worked just fine and all I wanted for it was $50 but no nibbles.

I would not even think of telling my employees to get new cars.  I have
suggested to a colleague whose car would not start in cold weather after
being plugged in that she should get its battery and alternator looked at
but that was a different story.:-)

No one should ever say to anyone "you should do this".  However
some one might say, "If you want to achieve this, you may need to try
that".
