CH> It's a best to see Classic in the way of classics.. I'm not a
CH> musical fan but the other bestest is "Fiddler on the Roof".. do you
CH> know the actor who played Tyve (the father) had played is said to
CH> have performed his pre his demise, played that part 2,000 time?

BA> Most likely that would be Zero Mostel. He had the same part in the
 BA> movie.

Yes. He played the papa, Tyve yes? I read he had played htis
part 2000 times (plays). Fantastic actor he was. Really got into the
part. OH you know when he did his "If I were a rich man"...
especially... And one of my favorites of that musical is "Sunrise
Sunset..." :)

When I first saw the play it was put on by a University Thespian
group. They did a fantastic job... saw it three times in act.
.....................
BA> Wonder how many other actors played the same role in both the stage
BA> and film versions of a play/movie. Hmm, there's Robert Preston (The
BA> Music Man), Dick Van Dyke (Bye Bye Birdie), Ethel Merman (Call Me
BA> Madam), I'm sure there are many others, those three came to mind.

No idea but Zero was the best! :) Hey he had blue eyes didn't he?
