Who knows? I would advise you to get CHECKINI and/or INIMAINT and
purge your INI files regularly, especially while you are 'playing
around' with the system. You can get some really screwy results if
they get too garbaged up with outdated info.
BTW, one quick way to hang the WPS is to open an icon view of a folder
with lots of files, then do a bunch of mucking around while it's trying
to paint the icons. Frequently, the WPS takes the attitude "I'm busy!
come back tomorrow!".
