Well, I guess that's partially true, provided we remember that the
entire computer industry is increasingly dominated by Microsoft's evil
monopoly. Atari's woes are more than just the product of internal
inadequacies.

I do not remember that event. Atari has always had a minority market
share in the computer business.

Atari is still in the hardware business, according to Atari.
Rumors to the contrary are not authenticated.

We get exactly what we paid for. I did anyway. In fact, based on some
of the puchases of ST products that I've made in the past year, I got
MUCH MORE than what I paid for.

That is true. It's a big paper weight without some decent software.
The good news for me is that I have found incredible bargains in ST
software also. I can't complain because I've got some powerful
productivity software. Today I got really bored wrestling with
Microshaft productivity software on my PC, so I am going to boot up some
stuff on my ST that I haven't used before to see how good it is. If you
remind me some time next week I will give you a short product
comparison. :-)

In terms of new games, yes, you have a valid lament. However, in this
day of cheap used computers, you may find salvation in owning multiple
computers. Some very nice VGA software will run on even an ancient 386.
You can usually buy one with a bunch of games already installed on it.
Might also be fun to add an Amiga to your collection.

I think the really cool development of Atari software is not on the ST
anymore, it is on the Falcon030. You can't exactly expect a truckload
of software for that either though, I guess.
