->
-> I heard from somewhere that originally, the NA SF games were suppose
-> to be the same as the japanese SF concerning the names of the
-> characters. In Japan, Balrog (US) would be M. Bison. But they
-> changed the boxer name to Balrog here because there's another boxer
-> name that is similar to M. Bison (Can you guess which boxer I'm
-> talking about?)
I knew that they had the names changed...but I never knew why. That's kinda
interesting. They [Capcom] probably thought that maybe the US consumers
wouldn't take the game as seriously. Mike Tyson. Maybe the M in M Bison means
Mike then? In japan Charlie is Nash, and M. Bison is Vega. I think. That
reminds me when Street Fighter II came out, how everyone couldn't pronounce
the names of the characters right. I would actually like to go through that
again in Street Fighter III. Letseee...
There was Guile:
Gooylee, Juile....
Ryu:
Rihoo....
and a few others.
    In Mortal Kombat II there was Shang Tsung. I was about, maybe 10 years
old when it came out and there was one thing I was particurly proud of, that
I guessed the name right when everyone else couldn't pronounce it. I found
out I was right when Mortal Kombat came out on theatres. You don't know the
feeling you get. I felt like I was the only one in the world who wasn't
fooled. I heard people prounounce it before like "Yeah, you know the boss in
the first one? Shang Toosung? You can play as him now!" It probably doesn't
matter to you all but I just thought I would mention it. But it sucked
because I thought Loo in Liu Kang was prounced Li-ooo.
