 As far as I know ALL IDE Hard Drives have some onboard buffers. but
untill recently with the very large onboard buffers they were quite
small. But still I think the Drive needs the attention of the Controller
and Both drives stil cannot have trhe controllers atention at the same
time. As stated before that is one of the advnatages of SCSI. You can
have 7 or 14 drives on the controller ALL working at the same time.
