Laurie, Laurie, Laurie.... Sigh. What are we to do with you? Elect
you to public office? Hey, some of those gigs come with a built-in
retirement, y'know? Figure that once you're in, you can rabble-rouse
your little heart out, and by the time you alienate enough people to
eliminate any possibility of getting re-elected, you've already got your
retirement check in the bag. I thought of doing that, and if it
weren't for the people you have to associate with to get elected, I
might have gone for it. ;-)

Some people have all the fun. As it is now, I'm looking at the prospect
of 60,000 right-wing fundamentalist Christians descending on my town on
Father's day. It's the "Promise Keepers" and they're planning a rally
at the local University football stadium. They're also known to stand
around on street corners handing out Bibles, etc. Could be a REAL fun
time. (It's not that I have a problem with men being responsible
adults, it's just that I don't believe it's necessary to wrap social
responsibility in religion and send money to some idiot for the
opportunity to do that.)
LC>MN> Obviously they've never spent a half hour wretsling on the couch for

LC>the remote is mine, I control it or the TV is off
Heheheheheh. My kids are much the same, in that they believe that the
t.v. is theirs to do with as they wish. They are learning. When
I'm there, I tend to watch what I want to watch, whether I want to watch
it or not. The idea there is that they inevitably hate it, so they get
mad and go into their room and read a book. One of these days they're
going to figure out what's going on, but I'm not helping them at all.
I know, it's devious, but hey, if that's what it takes to get them
to read, I'll do it.
