CJ> Needless to say, the popular notion about the L & R hemispheres is
CJ> pretty over-simplified, if not downright wrong. Furthermore, I'm

CJ> looking at society, the "left," "logical" one seems to be in greater
CJ> need of development.
BS> Well, from what I've read the left hemisphere is the rational,
BS> organized, structured side--the censor. The right hemisphere is the
BS> free-ranging, creative, associative side. I guess that's an over-
BS> simplification, but it's easy to understand.
Bosh on either side being _the_ censor. They judge each other's
domains. And remember, language is a dominantly _left_ hemisphere
activity. Someone who wants to work on drawing or music wants to
give their right hemisphere more practice (which could have
ancilliary benefits for writing--greater visualization, more
flowing and rhythmic style, etc.).
Spontaneity is what needs to be worked on (I myself as well),
not a specific hemisphere, aside from certain qualities in writing.
BS> I said I needed to develop the right hemisphere. From what I've seen
BS> of most people, I agree that the left brain is the one most in need of
BS> development.
I argue not with your judgment of what qualities you need
to work on, only the location--in short, much of what passes for
"pop" psychology on this is using metaphor instead of neurology.
