subject: Welcome Newcomers

As acting moderator I wish to extend a hearty welcome to
anyone who has recently picked up this echo or who has
been lurking but hasn't been posting yet. This is
especially so for people in Europe and Pacific regions,
if Australia, Japan or Korea are listening. I also hope
we can get some participation from Mexico and Brazil
soon. And don't be surprised if any day now the UK comes
back online with us. To Poland and Belgium and
Turkey and all those other exciting places please feel
very welcome; I know some of you have been here for quite
a while now and have made the echo a much better place.
Also, I'm sure all of us would appreciate if you could
post a bit about any prog scene that you have happening
around you either historically or especially any recent
        news.

Please join in and write lots of messages and enjoy
        yourselves.

A bit of history: this echo has been around for many
years and has gone over many of the more obvious topics
in the past. However, don't let that stop you from going
        into something that interests you.

For example, over the past five years probably everything
that could be said about Kansas has been said. So, for
some of the old timers here, they might actually like
Kansas a lot and think highly of them but might not jump
into a discussion because they might feel they've already
said all they had to say on the subject three years ago.
However, if you're new here, then you obviously haven't
said all you have to say on them subject.

So, go for it, and hopefully there will be others here
who are new who share your interests, or perhaps you just
might provoke an old-timer to jump into the fray anew.

        I'll shut up now.

                                Cheers,
                                Kenneth
