Wonder why they are wasting time "theorizing" when all they have
to do is read the instructions that come with the new 52X drives?
A 1X CD spins at 300 RPM, a 52X CD spins at 15600 RPM.
The instructions read (paraphrased): 'DO NOT insert any CD with a paper
label, do not insert any CD with a crack or scratch'. 'Such a CD WILL
disintegrate, damage your player, and void your warranty'.

Although sometimes necessary, I don't like standing inline with ANY
rotating mass, including 3600 RPM grinding wheels.
Good luck... M.
