There seems to be some confusion about this, so let me clear try to clear it
up the best I understand.
1. Standard V34. (28.8/33.6)
Uses Standard telephone service. Analog Only.
2. K56FLEX (Like the Suprae Express 56).
The client end (The supra) uses standard telephone lines.
The server (your ISP), must have a DIGITAL (ISDN - BRI or PRI) connection
to the phone network, and must be running a K56Flex server.
3. X2 (IE the USR Sporster and Courier Modems).
The client end, (The Sportster or Courier) uses standard telephone lines.
The server (your ISP), must have a DIGITAL (ISDN - BRI or PRI) connection
to the phone network, and must be running a X2 server.
4. ISDN (IE a Courier IMODEM, Motorola BitSurfer, etc).
BOTH ends must have a DIGITAL (ISDN - BRI or PRI) connection to the
phone network. Most ISDN client modems also have the capability
of plugging in a standard modem to an Analog port on the back for
calling standard Analog modems. Some have this capability built in.
K56Flexx and X2 are NOT compatable. All K56Flex and X2 modems (that I know
of) are also capable of standard V34.
