*** Quoting Bryan Hamilton from a message to Mike Roberts *** BH> heh, well synchronet is powerful, i'll admit that. but i think it's a BH> piece. i doesn't conform to the standard or what i believe to be I believe that the only reason sync is even popular now, is for 2 reasons. One it is actively supported. Some sysops may not always like Robs style, but they didn't like Cott langs either. And two, it's free. But if there were other free competitive systems, there aren't that many meeting the two conditions above. Or, I fear Sync would be hurting. OTOH, I actually credit Rob and Sync for keeping the medium alive for now. If you really look back 6 or 7 years ago, Was Tim Strike innovative or what? I mean he was going to the Language file, the scripting etc. In fact as Lars Hellsten said to me. Tim was ahead of his time. Even to a point at that period of time, where TG became so sophisticated, a lot of sysops jumped ship to RG as RG was simpler. Thank goodness. Had Tim in some way been able to keep up with TG, You can only imagine what it might be now. But like I say, It's hard to match sync/Robs dedication to the Hobby. Mike ...
