I prefer hay of course, although I also use pellets and cubes.
 
The pellets I use to give the kid some crunch while she's still teething and 
to a degree the same goes for cubes. However she slows down and eats cubes so 
slowly that I like them to keep her occupied as long as possible instead of 
her gulping down the other food like she does.
 
I can also soak the cubes in vinegar, and not the pellets.
