I would guess that during the post the bios tests the controllers and
assigns a maximum dma speed to each. Thus if there are 2 fast and 2 slow
devices then one might likely get better results if one grouped the fast
devices together on the same controller. Another issue is the bus waits
introduced for a slower cd for example. These would likely steal even
more time from the fast drive. I could be wrong...
