There are upgrade prices for users of previous versions.   Maybe it's not 
mentioned on the web-pages, but it is certainly available from retailers.  
Just ask.
And.. remember that WP is significantly cheaper for students.  So.. if you 
have a son or daughter, maybe take advantage of that and have them use their 
student status to acquire a copy.
