MD> There was stuff like finding points on maps, finding red coins, plenty
MD> of secrets, helping the snowman find his body, rescuing the little
MD> penguin, the treasure chest puzzles in the underwater world, etc.
MD> Sure, there is plenty of bashing, but there's also much more to do
MD> besides just that.
True I agree with you, but still, when you have to find the 8 red coins, open
the chest, get the star using the power caps , etc.. etc.. If you want to
survive to be able to get to the treasure chests, or get the red coins, you
need to bash the bad guys, I mean, they don't put you in a level that has
UST
8 red coins really well hidden.
MD> -> The bosses? Please, they all used the same type of way of being
MD> -> "killed"...
MD> -> There's the first one, that bomb king, you need to go to his back,
MD> -> pick him up,
MD> -> thrown him, same thing with bowser, you need to get to his back,
MD> -> pick him up, and throw him. Then there's those other bombs where you
MD> -> just need to BASH in order for them to fall in Lava..
MD> Not at all. The bomb was right, the boil bully you had to push off,
MD> koopa you had to beat twice, bot times the same way of killing him
MD> (Throwing him into the bombs) but both times he had diffirent sets of
MD> attacks. Then there was the whomp guy, who you had to dodge when he
MD> tried to squish you and stomp on his back. All bosses the same? I
MD> don't think so.
You can't just push them off, you have to hit them in order for them to fall
off. Or else it would be to easy.
You have to agree with me when I say this ->
If you want to kill Bowser, you need to get to his back, take his tail. If
you
want to beat the "bomb king" you need to get on his back, and throw him.
There's also those purple balls that take you and throw you, to defeat them,
you need to take their back, and throw them. You cannot dissagree with me
here?
There's those big bombs, (1 in the SnowMan, 1 in the Volcano type level,
another forgot where) where you have to hit them, to fall in the lava, or ice
cold water to die. There's a lot like that.
All the other bad guys, you need to either punch them, of jump on them.
MD> -> Oh and don't forget the story, Marios story has been repeated since
MD> -> 1980 or something... well, it's the exact same story all over the
MD> -> place. From mario 1,
MD> -> to 64. As for Crash, the story is much more different, he needs to
MD> -> save the planet, the story also has a plot twist.. who do I trust?
MD> -> Dr. N brio or that other one... And the Crystals are harder to find
MD> -> (not the purple ones) then any
MD> -> star in Mario 64.
MD> let's face it, story is not a key part of mario 64. If mario 64 was an
MD> rpg (and it has been done, with a GREAT story, on SNES) it would need a
MD> good story, but plain and simple, it isn't. Doom and quake had weak
MD> storylines, too, and yet they seem to be highly favored among gamers.
Doom2 has a bit more of a story, and it's not reapeated. Unlike Mario 64.
n
Doom1, the Devils invade the Earth, in Doom2, you take care of them, then you
go into their "domain"... And kill them off there.. Unlike all the marios
(except for RPG) where you have to kill Bowser to get the princess.
Also, Doom2 is quite different from Mario, for one thing, Doom and Doom2 were
the 1st true (well, apart from wolfenstein that had bad grphx) 1st person
shooter, and it was like a first in it's genre.. While Mario? Not really, on
the SNES, it's just another 2D scrolling game..
You can't really compare both of them.. And Quake, well, it doesn't have that
huge of a success as Doom2 did, now does it?
