The origins of the phrase come from when Spock was talking to Kirk about
people in the early 21st century who blindly believed a "remake" was the
same thing as the original, even when the people making it tell them it's
different. He used it a second time when talking about the idiot's making
the "remakes" and re-using the same name as the original for their very
different product.   ;-)
