Greetings from Pensey's Point, Chris!
Chris Clark put fingers to keyboard and spelled out some words about
Geos questions to Peter Campbell on 23-Jun-96.
CC> Peter - I have just bought GeoWorks Ensemble 2.01 from Computermate
CC> services ... and cannot find the answer to these questions:
CC> 1 How do I insert text quickly from the scrap-book?
ALT-E to open the Edit menu. Then C to copy the text scrap. Shift-INS to
insert it in the document you are working on. The scrapbook does not
support Quick Copy (Drag and Drop), but there is a third party
application called Scrapy that allegedly does. I haven't tried it, so
cannot say for sure.
CC> 2 Is there a way to get the date to permanently display on the
CC> screen the way you can get the clock to display?
Why do you want to? If you need to insert today's date in a document,
go to the Edit menu and use Insert Special. ALT-E opens the menu. Then
press the underlined letter to open the Insert Special menu. I haven't
checked but you may need to set the User Level higher than the default
Level 2 to access this option. Date choices available include longhand
with or without weekday, shorthand, date of printing and today's date.
You could display the GeoPlanner in the Events view. If you have it in
the Desk Accessories folder, it will float on top. Resize it as small
as will display the date and then minimise it. Two clicks will bring it
up when you want to see the date.
CC> 3 Is there a key-board short-cut to the Express menu; or any
CC> other key-board short-cut for starting applications
CC> (I'm much happier with a key-board than with a mouse!)
CTRL-ESC brings up the Express menu. Then press the underlined letter
for whatever you want.
Note: The underlined letter is not displayable if you activate the
floating keyboard.
CC> ... I'll never forget the first time I ran Windows, but I'm trying.
Very trying! Windows that is! ;-)
Regards
