SD> McCormick Montreal Steak seasoning.
DM> For meat or for vegeterian steak too?
It was designed for beef steaks but it's a nice all purpose
seasoning mix. I put it on other meats and often sprinkle it on
egg and vegetable dishes too.
It started off being a spice mix for turning beef brisket into
pastrami at a famous Montreal restaurant. The staff started putting
it on grilled steaks and it became popular with their customers. The
restaurant doesn't sell the spice mix anymore as they sold the
recipe to the McCormick company.
It is made with coarse salt, black pepper, coriander seed, dried
ground up chile peppers, dried garlic and onion bits. And maybe
traces of some other things.
