You mean like infoplease.com income earned and Federal Taxes paid
graph that shows top 1% make 16% of the money and pay 34% of the taxes
while the bottom half make 14% of the money nd pay only 3.5% of the
taxes?
That is not meaningful numbers that show more money equals more
taxes?

How about Effective Tax rates for all households that shows the
lowest two quintiles actually have a negative effective tax rate (due to
paying no taxes at all and getting various credits). Meanwhile, the top
quintile pays an effective rate of 13.9% while the next quintile pays
5.9% (with the negative rate, there is a around a 20% difference in the
rate.
Even folding in social security for a total effective tax rate, the
highest quintile pays an effective rate of 25.0 and the lowest 4.8%,
still showing a hefty difference.

How about:

http://www.econ.washington.edu/user/brucen/451SP06/Federal%20Tax%20Incide
nce%202003%20Summary.htm

http://tinyurl.com/3do6bh

This shows that tax rates as % of income for all federal taxes (include
FICA and excise taxes) the top quintile paid 25% of their income in
taxes while the lowest paid 4.8% with the top 5% paying 28%. Share of
taxes showed top quintile 65.7 of all taxes and bottom quintile 1%.
No matter how you slice it (% of taxes, effective rate, share,)
the more you make the more pay in taxes.
