| subject: | OS/2 C++ Programming? |
Some senseless babbling from Wayne Steele to All
on 19 Nov 98 08:38:32 about OS/2 C++ Programming?...
WS> Hi All,
WS> I wouldn't have a clue what I need for programming C++ for OS/2 but
WS> I'm willing to learn somehow...
A brain, a book, and a compiler will do.
WS> I have a source code for a BBS package and I need a compiler for it...
WS> Is there any FREEWARE or SHAREWARE compilers around?
The EMX package is a free port of the GNU C compiler.
WS> If not does Watcom 10.x or 11.x series compile OS/2 executables?
Yes, but the product is no longer being updated. I personally use
VisualAge C++ from IBM, which I picked up via auction for $91. Normally,
it's something like $350 or so. Version 4.0 is soon to be out, with
version for OS/2, AIX, and WinNT/95.
