RB>> Paul, I am sorry to have missed your phone call on sunday. RB>> I was called out on Sunday about 15minutes before you rang. RB>> And would you believe it Rained, the river rose 10 feet, RB>> and I could not get home until 9pm monday night. RS> A likely story, we know you were blind drunk, staggering around RS> in a daze, and fell into the river, crocodiles and all. Don't drink... bad for your health you know, but I an in to Diazepam (Valium) at regular intervals. Actually, talking of croc's. The Cairns post reported a croc on fairway number 9 at a local Golf course. RB>> I watched a ten foot wall of water come down carrying a bullock, RS> Hallucinating too by the looks of it. Diazapam fix's all that. The side affects are the same as the reasons for which you take it. RB>> when it hit the old wooden bridge the bullock was dumped on the RB>> bridge. Dazed and staggering the bull got up on its feet then fell RB>> over the otherside of the bridge, gone for good now I would say. RS> What you might call a tad of a hair day for him |-) RB>> We have had 15inches of rain in the last 8 hours RB>> Inisvail had 20inches in the last 24 hours RS> Farkin ell. My home town, and you cant spell RS> it for nuts, you should be publicly whipped. Sorry, I knew I had the spelling wrong after I wrote it. but I thought that it would not really matter as the city limit signs where under water as I saw the the town float past me. RB>> Disaster has struck (in more ways than one) RS> Probably best to just shoot yourself. RB>> I also accidently formatted 2 * 1.6gig RB>> (stacked drives) near 6gig of files gone. RS> For about the TENTH time. You must be accident prone. RS> A Japanese would have committed Hari Kari by now. Funny you should say that, you are not the first. In fact I can blame (well I am going to, anyway) Win95/Dos7 I had a c: that I wanted to fdisk and reformat with the system files on it, and after I finished the fdisk, it popped me back to the A:\. I did dir, It told me I had an invalid drive. ( I should have rebooted and updated the memory, but NO) So it told me that I still had an invalid drive then, and moved the drive letters I thought, invalid drive... I thought I had already formatted drive c:. Anyway, So I formatted drive c: again (which by then was actually drive d:) (Am I making any sense, I am still comming back from a trip on Diazepam, honestly) RB>> I had to scrounge a boot disk and terminate 3 to get this message out RS> I think you should be publicly whipped. Only if you are a she & also a blonde in leathers, will I let you whip me. RB>> Problem two, is that with all this rain, my perfect RB>> lines are for the moment now down to 28800/26400 to RB>> dave drummond and 2800/28800 to another number in Brisbane The bugger did not tell me that he had put the sporty on line. But it was still not good. I do have stats here I will post later. RS> Interesting. Presumably your local line more than a tad damp. Oh yes, All I could get from a guy at the exchange was that it was AXE, thats all, and he was too busy to let me come in for a peek. RB>> (with audible noise in the line and 217 errors RB>> on a 270k mail packet, yet no block errors) RS> What ? You mean 217 Zmodem errors ? Likely just Terminate etc config. Must be, I am still getting them (always 2 errors with any download) with the same setup. Now that I have hit Brisbane. Too many things changed at once to track it down fast, But I must soon. RB>> If it fines up by say thursday (and I get my good RB>> lines back) then I will call your number some time. RS> Please dont, you might jinx my line. RB>> You just cant beat stupidity or nature. RS> Or mobile disaster areas going by the name of Russ Brookes |-) So, whadid I tell ya before, You are not the first to notice that I do things different to anyone else....Called independant..isn't it Russell --- Terminate 3.00/Pro* Origin: Electron Migration (3:640/305.55) SEEN-BY: 640/305 450 711/934 @PATH: 640/305 711/934 |
