Hi Alan,

 AS> RG> I do have the LL114 S register file, but
 AS> RG> I didn't upload it. If there

AS> RG> should speak up and I'll u/load that file too.

AS> Yes please Rod! Moved mine on to Allan
AS> Swinden, and He doesn't appear

OK, i'll upload it with this call.

AS> to be having any of the problems I had with it, so I doubt I'll try
AS> again with one, but that could come in handy.

Yeah. I've decided that I'm going to sell mine too.

 AS> I imagine I would have
AS> trouble with any 14.4 from my location.
AS> Might try to borrow some other
AS> brand 14.4 just for the experiment one
AS> day if I get the opportunity.

I was fortunate, I managed to do a temporary swap with my brother.. HIS
modem works almost flawlessly here. He does report the odd bad connect
using the LL, but for the most part it works fine for him.

Don't give up on 14.4 because of problems with the LL.

I'm not saying that the LineLinks are BAD modems, but they do seem very
susceptable to bad line problems. I found they work flawlessly at 9600
though, and for the price of them they are worth it for this speed
alone. (I consider 14.4k connect to be a bonus :-(
'Course, I already have a 9600 modem anyway and the purpose of me
upgrading was to improve on my existing set up. If I didn't already
have 9600 though I would be quite content with the LL.

AS> Btw, Got a Handiscanner over this way now,

Fun aren't they :-)

AS> as myself, Allan Swinden and Ivan Blitz pooled our money to buy
AS> Mick Lazics one. Allan is going

I didn't even know Mick had one (Scanner, that is)

What power supply do you have with it ? Mine came with the original
German one and it works ok. I know others bought theirs from USA and
had to use a different power supply and the "plug-paks" that they used
caused the scanner to give a lot of streaks across the image (This can
be easily and cheaply fixed by adding a big capacitor (2200uf) across
the DC output wires. Some of them also require a simple regulator
circuit added.

Anyway, what I'm saying is that if your scans show *any* signs of
streaking then this is the cause.

Cheers
Rod
