Frank, at 12:45 on Jul 30 1995, you wrote to Bill Grimsley... BG> What about the double-send bug, have you experienced that? FM> Dunno, what's the symptoms? Not sure, something about half-speed cps rates, MR light flashing, etc. I've never called a Spirit with a 14k4 Rockwell, so haven't personally seen it. BG> Do you connect with error-correction EVERY time? FM> Dunno. I'll try and remember to look, as I don't have Telix keeping a FM> log at this stage (haven't seen any need to). Doesn't matter, if it was the same fault, no data transfer's possible anyway. FM> I can't have a look, that CONNECT message doesn't show up now that I've FM> modified my Telix script as suggested by Paul to save those 2 or 3 FM> seconds at the connect. OK, no problem. You'd know because no mail would be sent or received. BG> My failed calls refuse to transfer data at all, and Rod now tells me that BG> his are the same, so I'd reasonably expect that you'd notice if a call had BG> failed to complete properly. Ergo, it looks like you're not afflicted. FM> Presumably you are talking about getting a connect and then failing at FM> some later point. Almost immediately, as it happens. After an extended negotiation phase, the modems actually report a CONNECT/14400, but no data is transferred, and I presume that if not manually aborted, the modems will eventually drop out. Needless to say, I don't wait that long. :) FM> TTBOMK I have never had that, apart from when someone FM> here picks up the phone. That doesn't happen much now. :-) Yeah, I know the feeling well. How IS Rosie, BTW? :) Regards, Bill @EOT: --- Msgedsq/2 3.20 alpha 6* Origin: Save our native fauna. Kill a cat today! (3:711/934.18) SEEN-BY: 640/305 711/934 30163/9 @PATH: 711/934 |
