Frank, at 12:45 on Jul 30 1995, you wrote to Bill Grimsley...

Not sure, something about half-speed cps rates, MR light flashing, etc.
I've never called a Spirit with a 14k4 Rockwell, so haven't personally seen
it.

BG> Do you connect with error-correction EVERY time?

Doesn't matter, if it was the same fault, no data transfer's possible anyway.

OK, no problem. You'd know because no mail would be sent or received.

Almost immediately, as it happens. After an extended negotiation phase,
the modems actually report a CONNECT/14400, but no data is transferred, and
I presume that if not manually aborted, the modems will eventually drop
out. Needless to say, I don't wait that long. :)

FM> TTBOMK I have never had that, apart from when someone

Yeah, I know the feeling well. How IS Rosie, BTW? :)
