I like change when it makes things better, I don't like change when it's simply
to prevent competition and doesn't make things better. There is a world full of
people who know how to use File/Edit/View, so what do they get out of this
change?
They get to learn where you put the same damn commands we had before, accessed
in the same way they were accessed before, with just a new icon and a new
location? They certainly don't take up less space, they aren't more functional,
they are however part of a new licensable design..
Sounds to me like this benefits Microsoft, not the users.
Ok so I found where to turn on the old File/Edit/View menu bar, where is the
off switch for the new menu bar? OMG there is no off switch for it you say,
even though it's the exact same commands as on the old menu bar I was able to
enable. Now why would there not be an off switch for this menu bar, all the
others have one..
Come on Rich, there isn't anyone here who can't see what's really going on.

When you say "work the way you work" you sound like you are
really saying
"work the way you are accustomed regardless of potential
improvements". I can
understand if you claim that you are more comfortable when there are no
changes. That is not an argument that no change is good.
In the case of IE7 its not as if the menus are gone. They were just
replaced with Home, Print, Page, Tools, and Help and moved to make more space
for the content.
