DN> Moreover, the VisPro C generator will run WMAKE.EXE on request, so for a DN> GUI project I don't need the Watcom IDE at all. ... :-) It's been a while since I last envangelized the leftist Dmake, but when given the opportunity I just can't help myself. I'll ignore what I consider to be state-of-the-art macro expansion and just mention that its support of concurrent makes under OS/2 allows for scorching build times. The combination of Watcom's incremental linking, precompiled headers, Dmake's concurrent makes, the fact that the compiler's code never unloads and huge amounts of code and data common to the entire build are cached makes for eye-popping library builds. Compile/link turnaround time on a typical application (one modified source) runs about 6.5 seconds, and build times for libraries typical run about 1 second per source.
