Hi Rick,
Yes, B&G's are very messy, and mine (Simon) has been known to lob his pellets 
across the room and land them in my bed, shoes, shirt pockets, etc.  The only 
thing I've found that helps at all was to get one of the large hooded crocks. 
 It isn't a "cure-all" but has cut down the scatter around the cage by about 
45-50%.
