Thanks for that. At last, fact that isn't based on "so and so told whoever
that joe blow said...."

Not when boy-racer tries to install a 9 inch diff and change the ratios.

I knew about the phone thing, but the lobsters? Please tell...

100K:1? You're not talking about the Auslig/Natmap 250K raster series are
you? They translate closer to 160K on a 12" laptop display.

And "25K for most of the country", doesn't include (in NSW) the
"LPI 7 CDs
for nearly a thousand dollars" set does it? They're nearly bloody useless.
All are anywhere between ten and thirty years old. I made the mistake of
buying one before I realised I pissed more money down the drain.

I was using oziexplorer on my iPaq, much less to carry around when you have
to travel light. Had the Natmap maps for all the state, along with detailed
street level for canberra, and everything between the central coast and
woolongong. And many of the smaller towns all crammed into half a 512Mb CF card.

Yeah, they all use the standard frequency meter technique to measure speed.
What they should do is measure period, and translate that to speed. Would make
for a much faster update time, independant of speed.

Out of interest, is the HUD an option, or an aftermarket thing? I've seen
filters built into the windshield to improve visibility of the display, but no
aftermarket units. I didn't think the 200sx had this as an option (a mate had
a 200 and he didn't mention it- he would have gone for it had he known about it).
