The only linker I have of theirs that works is the 10.6 one and I had to
try several versions of that to get one that works.  In any case, it
uses a different command line syntax so using the IDE is out of the
question.  After a month of beating on Sybase support I was
able to get them to get some developer to make an under the table patch
and it now works perfectly.  It was in fact running out of file handles
and all they needed was to add a one line call to _growhandles().
