subject: Lost link the final year!

Hello Cindy,

>CH>hehe yeah and they COULD do all that in one year.

>LL>Two years (24 episodes per year).
>LL>In any event, the big question of the day is -
>LL>IS HE DEAD?
>LL>John Locke, that is. :)

CH>I just could NOT wait to talk to you. We should do email addy
CH>exchange in entmail so to do this in email. It would be easier! :)

Best to send me netmail with email addy rather than posting email
addy here. A certain "control freak" may be watching. :)

CH>Sheeze. I don't think he is dead. I think he's just going to sleep
CH>for awhile.

Ben is a fraud, and needs Locke to reveal certain "secrets". :)

CH>Major Question!!! Do you think Ben ment to wipe everybody out or just
CH>his dad?

Ben is evil. Juliet said so. And Juliet does not lie. Except when
she wants to. Just like Ben. While it is true that Ben offed his dad,
it is more likely that Ben got others to wipe out the rest of the gang.
After all, Ben is a manipulator. And he does it so well. :)

CH>Or was it the "Hostiles" who put him up to it? I may have
CH>missed some of the captioning, and the stupid weather blurb going
CH>accross the screen did not help. (Thunderstorms are a major event here
CH>in Texas.)

Ben ran away from the Dharma Initiative. Ben got help from the outside,
in order to challenge those in charge of the Dharma Initiative. In
order to keep and maintain control, Ben had to eliminate those who would
oppose him. As such, everybody had to die (except those who worshipped
him).

CH>And then. Are the "others' acatually 'the hostiles' led by Ben now?
CH>And where did the 'hostiles' come from?

According to Ben, he recruited most of them from outside the island.
However, the question remains open as to if any are original inhabitants
of the island. It also seems likely that there are no survivors of the
Dharma Initiative (aside from those recruited to serve as underlings).

>LL>With three seasons to go, methinks it be a bit early for
>LL>John Locke to leave. But then, maybe he misses his daddy.
>LL>You think? :)

CH>Nah.. but I'm feeling a bit.... Lost.

What's there to be Lost about? It's an island. And no island
can be that big. Except maybe Australia. :)

CH>Is Juliet now siding with the survivors...

Oh, come now. Everybody knows that Juliet is actually Laura Inne's
lover on ER. :)

CH>And Im not clear on why John beat the guy with the patch up... You
CH>ikonw the one who was suppsed to be deead?

It was necessary for John Locke to beat the pulp out the one-eyed guy.
If he had not done so, the others would have regarded Locke as a wimp
and under the total control of Ben. It also was insurance for Locke,
just in case Ben got the bright idea to have him done away with.

CH>Let's note too that the car Ben as young man gassed his dad in. was
CH>the same car Herley and Charlie found.... You know with the 10 year
CH>old bear?

Yep. Same hippie van with all that flat beer. :)

>LL>BTW, the season finale should be a good one.
>LL>RIP Charlie. RIP Ben. :)

CH>No way... hehe. They don't really die! We're jsut made to think they
CH>did. Just you wait!

Row row row your boat
Gently down the stream
Merrily merrily merrily merrily
Life is but a dream.

CH>Now. What about this spook, Jacob. Ben wanted John to believe him but
CH>why couldn't Ben hear what "jacob' Said? (hel me)...

Ben is a fraud, just like Locke said.

CH>Weird.

Not at all. Keep in mind that John Locke is also the name of a
very famous philosopher. And the part is played in character.
The god that John Locke worships is NOT the Christian god, but
rather the philosopher's god.

Other literary references to the show include Ayn Rand, Jules Verne,
and Charles Dickens. Not to mention Lewis Carroll. :)
