If you're talking about the late '80s TV program with Paul, George, Ringo and George Martin, and Martin's book 'With A Little Help From My Friends', I'd place both in the "good, but could've been better" category. Neither contain any outrageous revelations, although the television program does feature brief snippets of a few isolated tracks (the sound montage from "Mr. Kite", and the vocal chorus from the title track). > Also, related, those moments from (I think) a 1967 radio show with > George Martin and the Beatles going over the recording (Martin messes > with the faders on the mixing board etc.). That sounds quite a bit like the program described above. I've never heard of any contemporary study of 'Pepper' wherein Martin exposed individual tracks. If such a thing existed, I'd expect it to have been widely bootlegged. There is, however, mid-sixties footage of Martin explaining the recording techniques he was currently using. Whether that was related to 'Pepper', I don't know... -- All follow-ups are directed to the newsgroup rec.music.beatles.moderated.
