JN> How about that! Just like an old record player. JN> And the tires of a moving vehicle. And precisely why I had such a difficult time over the years telling people, including long time motorcycle riders, that turning the front wheel to the right leads to a left turn all things being equal and turning it to the right leads to a left turn. Turning the front wheel of a motorcycle to the right, pushing the left handlebar forward, causes the tire to ride on the ground closer to the hub on the _left_ side therefore turning faster and thus the left turn despite what common sense would appear to dictate. Most riders most of the time use the shifting of body weight to turn and some never notice the phenomenon however there are times it's quite useful to be aware of. --- MultiMail/PBellDOS v0.42* Origin: FONiX Info Systems * Berkshire UK * www.fonix.org (2:252/171) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 252/171 140/1 106/2000 633/267 |
