12-15-08 00:46: Ardith Hinton to Kevin Klement, "click click" AH> My body has a few quirks, though, to keep me humble.... ;-) Is *that* what they are for!?! AH> So is ours. Hang in there... James & I need you! AH> Although the folks who still use this medium have AH> certainly diminished in number, I believe you're providing AH> an important service. A large proportion of my own modem AH> buddies are physically disabled and/or on a limited income AH> and/or residing in an area where other options aren't AH> available to them. I value the work you're doing.... :-) And HOW!!! If people only knew what they could do with less-than-fifty-bucks worth of computer and a BBS, Micro-Spend and the Internet wouldn't be *nearly* as popular. Kevin even gates a few NGs, and grants me an email "soupgate" , so I only traipse off to community I-net connections about once a month. I could afford a dial-up connection easily enough, but with this BBS, I don't miss a direct connection NEARLY as much as I was expecting to. Besides, the ten dollars a month helps feed the cat, and he's more entertaining. AH> Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow... [chuckle]. Nanaimo RRR!!! You two chuckle all you want, but I have a cul-de-sac *full* of spoiled neighbours, who don't seem to own snow shovels. On my way to the community connection today, I expect to volunteer to dig a few out again. AH> seems to have got most of it, but we have a few inches. Here on AH> the Wet Coast the stuff doesn't hang around for months as AH> it does in other parts of the country... it's a novelty for AH> us. And because we cleverly selected a wheelchair which AH> was able to handle hills & rough terrain, it handles snow AH> fairly well too. We could use some ideas, though, about AH> attaching a snowplough in front of this rig. The one AH> remaining problem is ground clearance... it doesn't do well AH> in deep snow. :-)) I wonder if they make chains and skis for chairs. ...
