   I haven't even seen Windows Mail, but I can tell you with 100% certainty
that they don't support a standard protocol like APOP because this is
somehow seen as a competing protocol.

   Sort of like the spanking new FrontPage replacement, Expressions Web
product barely supporting FTP as an upload protocol, much less FTP over
TLS.   So, how long has FTP been out there; why not support it?
