Nora squeezed my hand on Sunday.  It was just a little squeeze,
she had to pull her elbow back in order to make her fingers work, and she
said she could do it only when her arm felt stiff.  But she was able to do
it on request, after we heard she'd done the same with the OT last week. 
The progression was similar to what we've observed with her leg.  First she
had a lot of stiffness & pain in the joints... she often asked us to
massage or exercise them for her... and then after awhile she started
moving them semi-voluntarily, using reflexive patterns. It's a long way
from there to functional movement.  It's encouraging however, to see
something happening at last!  For the past two weeks she's been wiggling
her toes without straightening her leg as well, and that's also
encouraging....  :-)
