Hi Denis,

RH> I also have a Diploma in Women's Studies from the adjunct program at the
RH> seminary my husband graduated from.
DM> What is "Women's Studies" and is it for men too?

It's a program that the seminary has set up for women, mostly wives of
male seminary students. Some of the courses parallel classes their
husbands take, others are specifically for women. With the diploma, I
could get a position in a church as a director of ministry programs for
the church and community women. At the time we were taking our classes,
we anticipated my husband would be going into a pastoral position. After
graduation, he had some health issues that made him realise that he
could not take a full time ministerial position. We decided to stay in
this area for now, for several reasons.

We do volunteer work within our church and have gone with a mission team
to Vermont 4 times. Up in Vermont, Stephen and I do the grocery shopping
for the team for the week we are there. We also cook supper for the rest
of the team, including having a meal ready to serve the night they
arrive. One of the recipies I will post, probably this week, is for a
broccoli salad. I made it for the mission trip team one night on our
first trip and several people who had said that they didn't like
broccoli, did like the salad. Now I make a triple recipe for church pot
luck meals and rarely have any left in the bowl at the end of the meal.

Catch you later,
