In basic training, we'd see catfights break out in the bars and bet
each other a quarter on who'd win the fight. Basic entertainment at
its worst. I haven't set foot in a bar since then and am not
planning on it.

Okay, thanks. I figured as much that it wasn't too bad.

I think we're hovering around $2.70 or so. (goes to check
gasbuddy.com) Looks like it's between $2.55 and $2.75 in Johnson
City ... and in Greeneville, it's between $2.48 and $2.99 though the
high price is a small, independent station that carries ethanol-free
gas. Looks like $2.75 is the highest elsewhere.
I keep track of gas prices though I don't drive. I check into a
daily on-air amateur radio net called NORCARS that provides travelers
with weather and gas prices from across the US. If you go west from
where I am through Greeneville and into Mosheim, it becomes light
industrial with a wide, well-maintained four-lane divided highway
going straight onto I-40. So we tend to get a lot of truckers and
travelers in our area. Unfortunately, I am far enough away from all
of that to where CB is dead but I try.
