Joe Nicholson wrote in a message to Roy J. Tellason: -=> Quoting Roy J. Tellason to Charles Angelich <=- RJT> Then I have some hardcover stuff where the publication dates RJT> go back to the 1930s and 40s, and these are in like brand RJT> new condition. JN> I have hardcover books from the 1880's (Buffalo FD and JN> others), up through some engineering texts from 1906-07 JN> about the San Francisco earthquake. The covers of some JN> are worn, but the pages are in excellent condition. Ain't old "tech" books great? These ones I have here, they aim to cover a specific subject, and they cover it well, in writing that could serve as an example to some of the so-called tech writers today... The quality of the drawings and such is right up there too. I just wish I could find some more of this stuff where people weren't asking so much money for it. I used to have a few books like that that formerly belonged to my grandfather, wish I still had them. ---* Origin: TANSTAAFL BBS 717-838-8539 (1:270/615) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 270/615 150/220 379/1 106/1 2000 633/267 |
