 RipVan100.com || Products - SANYO Rechargeable Batteries

SANYO's patented sintering process yields 16 separate contact
points, (as opposed to the competition's four,) meaning stored
energy is more efficiently released. Their internal design
accommodates more rechargeable elements, (like electrolyte and
spiral "woundings,") allowing greater electrical storage.

batteries can form sulfation - a crystalline composition that
decreases battery capacity. Contrary to popular opinion, NiMH
batteries can and do develop "memory effect." In fact, some
brands of NiMH cells retain only 20% of initial their capacity
after only 100 recharge cycles!

Did you know not all NiMH batteries are equal? Rechargeable
Containing a "sulfation-inhibiting" chemical, the SANYO cells
retain 97% of initial capacity after 100 recharges, and normally
output 500~750 recharge cycles at >80% of their initial capacity
This fact alone is one of the prime reasons for the outstanding
performance and longevity of these batteries. Lesser cells don't
use this chemical because it costs more. (Therefore, most claims
of "up to 1,000 recharge cycles" are consequently bogus.)

"Shelf-life" is another issue. Alkaline cells can be stored
for up to 5 years with excellent performance. NiMH lasts
approximately 90 days before self-depleting. So for these
reasons, Alkalines are the better choice for devices needing
long shelf life, like clocks and remote controls.
Never use rechargeable batteries in Smoke or Carbon Monoxide
detectors!

Q: How many times can I recharge the SANYO "Industrial Grade"
1700mAh NiMH batteries?

A: It is often claimed that a NiMH battery can be recharged
"up to 1000 times." We make the same claim, but with this
understanding: a battery that has lost the majority of its
initial capacity can be recharged, but those cycles are not
considered useful.
