A survey sounds like a good idea. Personally speaking, I don't play games on 
the boards but call different boards that carry subjects I am interested in. 
Here in the Portland OR metro area (5 or 6 cities altogether local calls) 
there are 2 genealogy boards, 3 or 4 Commodore boards, one that caters to 
model railroading, at least 3 Atari boards, a couple that I could only 
describe as esoteric, at least one dedicated solely to gardening, as well as 
others that I haven't explored or don't care to (adults only, singles, etc.). 
I,too, have varied interests, music, electronics, sailing, old computers,etc 
and it's not unusual for me to spend 4 to 5 hours each night on the 
modem(much to the chagrin of my wife) but it keeps me out of the bars... :)
