subject: TRANSCRIPT PART IV

I just happened to remember, Beech has it in the King Air Handbook that a
pilot should read Bob Buck's book on how to De-ice an aircraft wings with
boots. Now the question is, is a pilot in some kind of violation if he tries
to fly the King Air in icing conditions without first reading Bob Buck's
ook?
Beech Certificated the King Air in accordance with Part 23 except for the ice
protection and that was supposedly done in accordance with Transprort
ategory
requirements which is PART 25, appendix C. This Section on ice protection is
quite stringent. It requires a certain amount of time be flown in icing
conditions with photos to prove it. Oddly enough, for some reason Beech
cannot come up with any photo's to prove they were ever in any ice. The FAA
bought the Designee's sign off.
