DW>I have the book Mcaws a Complete Guide by Rosemary Low. I think it is
DW>excellent
DW>with some beautiful pictures in it. On p 124:
DW>Cuban Macaw:Ara tricolor Extinct: Plumage: this very beautiful macaw had
DW>a red forehead, merging into hellowish-red on the top of the head and
shadin
DW>into bright yellow on the nape. The feathers of the upper back were
DW>cinnnamon-
DW>red, edged with greenish-red. The entire underparts were scarlet tinged
with
DW>orange on the throat and also on the cheeks. The upper surface of the tail
DW>was
DW>cinnamon-red, shading into blue at the tip.
Thanks for posting this--I've never seen any pictures of this macaw
before. But the description sounded gorgeous. Too bad man messed up
again, huh?
SO--How's Meggie the wonder child these days? How's Your husband doing?
All is well here--I have 2 fertile Jenday eggs under Rio & Paco. One is
pipping even as I write this. He'd better hatch soon--he's been pipping
since Monday! Everybody else is fine.
Write soon--I wanna hear what Megs has learned to say!
