There is a third choice, for Israel to stop fighting a defensive war 
against the Palestinians and truly go on the offensive to defeat them.  
The Arab population respects strength and other nations (except possibly 
Syria) would not interfere directly.  Of course the biggest casualty in 
the short run would be the Israeli economy.  A fourth option is for 
Israel to promote a Palestinian civil war.  That may not take much 
doing.
